Harness the Power of Genetic Engineering!

A new Colony NPC, the Geneticist, will guide you through the process of creating your very own genetically engineered and grown items! Talk to CapAIn to begin the questline.

Features:

  • Extract Item genes from Animals and turn them into a faster source of farmed items.
  • Use extracted DNA from animals to clone them!
  • Modify genes to make them produce more items in less time!
  • Overall, this mod provides are more costly but much more efficient way to farm items.


In the Future: I have plans for more, however, I do not have the time to make them, and am waiting on a certain spaceship to be added to the game.

where is the npc?

You should get the quest to find the geneticist from CapAIn sometime around when you get the virus quest. Once you have the quest, a new location will show up on the system starmap

Really cool mod. Sadly it doesn't seem to work in my repaired colony ship. It just goes up tp 100% and stays there. Probably doesn't recognize the cargo as storage.

That is something I did not think about...
Yeah, vehicle storages are handled differently, More Bots has the same problem. It will probably be a little while till I get around to patching it, so in the mean time either move your farms or build a storehouse inside the ship (which I think is still possible?)

Yes. It should autocollect, and it will take a while. I think I made it around 5-10 minutes per culture, but you shouldn't have to be in the same area for it to operate.
